I am running Excel 2003 (win) and have a "Medication Schedule.xls". I would like to be able to select from a list of names in Column A and those names would come from the "Client List.xls" file, which has a long list of names. Is this possible?

If this is possible, I would like Column B, C, D, E, and F of the Medication Schedule to automatically will with information related to the name that is selected in column A.

Please help, if this is possible.

Hi,

You will need to get that list into your workbook for Data > validation -- LIST to work.

I would use MS Query, via Data > External Data...

I would insert the QueryTable into a new sheet in your workbook, and use a Named Range for your list in the DV List reference.

As far as the second requirement, you should be able to accomplish that with the DLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, or INDEX/MATCH formulas.
