Hi,

I have an excel spreadsheet that I have linked the tables in access.

In the excel spreadsheet I have a formula in the first field that when you fill out a field on another worksheet, it automatically fills in on this spreadsheet.

My problem is that when I link the table to access, instead of the data type being a text type it is linked as a number type. I need for this table to link in with a data type of text. Is this possible or what am I doing wrong.

Could it be the formula within the cell that is stopping it from coming in as text. The formula is as follows:

=PROJECT_INFORMATION!$A$2

Please help.

Thank you. Darlene Sippio

How about changing the formula to:

=text(PROJECT_INFORMATION!$A$2,0)
