Hi,
Occasionally, my memo field will be truncated to 255 characters. I access the memo field through a form. I can have 400 characters, for example, in there today… tomorrow they are still there, but 5 days from now there is only 255. Why is this? What triggers it?
I do not open the field in Excel or Word, by the way, and do not use “<” or “>” to format it.

Thanks,
Eoin.

This is the behaviour when you apply formatting to a memo field. Don't know why...

So, remove your formatting.

Oops, I shoulda read enough to see that you're not formatting. "The Key, The Whole Key, and Nothing But The Key, So Help Me Codd!"

Try putting the memo field the last in the select list.

select f1, f2, f3, memofld from etc.......
