Data Transform Query

I am currently working with DTS to pull data from a very large SAP backend on Oracle. When i create a data transform between the Oracle Data source (using either ODBC connection or OLEDB) and the SQL Server destination it is taking an eternity to return the data transform dialog box (approximately 5 mins through enterprise manager running on server, 20+ mins through enterprise manager running on client).

Does anyone know what may be causing this issue, and any potential solutions.

Any help most appreciated.
