my question is if anyone have seen a solution where you backup data to tapes. In my case we are creating 1Tb of data each month and need to move them off to some kind of archive.

I'm not that keen on spendign 80K USD in a tape robot. Anyone have any suggestions?

What are looking to do exactly? how are you backing up now? By the sound of your post your growing by 1tb a month and you have no tape library?

This is not intended for backup. More like archiving off disk solution and have the data on tape instead on disk.

I do have a 30 slot LTO (generation 2) library for main backup. But i dont wanna use it for this.
