Problem is I have 100 lines of data in one table that is required to be changed daily by at least 6 users. I can let them see their data, but they also need to change this data. I need to record these changes within another table as a log. The criteria is that each record can be changed only once per day ...

How do I get around recording this ...

Is their anyone out their with an attendance register database that can help .... I have 4 days to complete this ....

Phew - you are on a tight schedule!

The only sure way of doing this is to control access to the data via a form and use code behind the form to track changes to the data in order to log it and code to check for previous changes to a record on the day concerned. You probably already know this but this will take a while to code, but there is no way round it.

I have forms that do this but it is complicated and would not be suitable for transplantation to your needs. However, if you need help on a specific point, give us a shout. Have fun!)

Hi there

What version are you workinging in if its 2000 and the app isn't huge you're in luck

I can squeeze 1.5hours in and return it to you by 11.30 as I already have an audit trail set up in another application .

Development is in Access 97 ... I am attempting to control this via an unbound form with sub forms displaying the days data. The user will then have to change the unbound forms combo boxes and add their comments and press update and this should resolve this.. does this sound sensible ... if not back to the drawing board ...
