Hello folks. New to Crystal reports; mainly work on SAS and UNIX side.

question: CR 9 reports needs to go get a SAS data set (or trigger a code exe) which resides on HP-UX. I am not having any luck, since SAS universal ODBC driver is for WIN only. I thought may be ask you folks if you have found a work around.

Summary: CR on WIN to trigger stored procedure or retrieve output from SAS on UX. Consider me novice and if you can, please let me know of the components I would need.

TIA

Where does Crystal reside? If it's a WIndows box, then the ODBC should be fine, it shouldn't matter what the server is.

I'm going against Oracle on Unix boxes often, it makes no difference what the backend is, ODBC is only on your Windows box.

Thank you for your time and reply ynapsevampire. I knew that part, the issue is SAS and its dataset; no ODBC by SAS on UNIX that would allow CR to read the dataset. Yes, CR is on a WIN box. Is ODBC that you use against ORACLE on UX provided by ORACLE or CR?

TIA
