Hi all, I am trying to run crystal through CE10 from data source in an excel file. I was able to run the report fine from crystal developer, but when I try to publish it, I am getting 'Unable to retrieve Object.
The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect' error. There is no database login/password to this file. Please help.

Hi,
Be sure the pageserver and jobserver services ( at least) on the CE box have permission to read the directory where the Excel file is located..It is best to run the CE services under a domain account that has the needed privs..

Thanks for response, Turkbear. If I am logging in as Admin, do you think those it will make any differences? How do I check those services? Thank You!

Hi,
Your login does not matter, it is the service that is actually reading the file..

In the CCM,right-click on each service and see what account they are using ( most often, the Local System account ) - stop the service and select an account for it to run under that has rights to the Excel stuff..In can be the administrator account of the CE server, especially if not in a network setting. If in a network, use a domain account that has the needed privs..If unsure about that, as your Windows/Network admins how to set one up.
After setting the account info, restart and re-enable the services.
