Data Replication Between 2 SAP Instances

Hello,

We have two separate (100km distance) and "independent" SAP instances (Netweaver 2004), so we have two Central Instances and two DB. Each department wants to keep their SAP system, but data must be consolidated between both systems.

The most important thing is that both systems should be data entry points for the same data, so replication from a master system to a read only system is not allowed.

Is this possible? Do you know any solution for this "bidirectional" data replication and consolidation between SAP systems? Which is the best way to approach this kind of problem?

Thanks in advance,
