Hello out there!
I inherited a fairly complex Access database with approximately 10 users. The data becomes corrupt frequently, so it was decided to use SQL Server as the back-end and keep the Access interface. This is my first experience with the Upsizing Wizard.
After running the Upsizing Wizard, I open the Relationships window in Access. All of the previously defined relationships are gone, and none of the reports retrieved any data. I added the relationships back, and VOILA! The data is retrieved into the reports from the SQL Server database.
My concern is that some of the relationships could not be made exactly the same as the original in several cases. In the Upsized version of the database, the Edit Relationships window has greyed out check boxes to "Enforce Referential Integrity," "Cascade Update Related Fields," and "Cascade Delete Related Records" whereas in the original database the designer had checked all three of these attributes.
So far, the report data compared side-by-side with the originals matches, but at this point, no new data has been added. I'm concerned that these relationships will affect the output as we start entering data. That is my next test, but I would appreciate any comments on the issue. Thanks!
