Data Protector email notification scripts

Does anyone have scripts to send email notifications with all the information of a completed or failed job? I can make a script that will send me an email when the job is complete, but I dont know how to capture or output any of the information from data protector.

This is on a Windows 2003 server using DP version 5.5

No I have not, I think I'm just going to upgrade to version 6 because it includes the SMTP feature.
