I'm having problems with one of our panasonic data projectors. Since we installed a new Dell desktop running XP pro sp2 the remote mouse function on the units remote control fails to move the cursor. As far as I can tell the remote is working ok as it lets the mouse move when you pull up the projectors system options. Putting an old NT4 laptop on the end sees the mouse work properly. Therefore I guess that the problem lies either with the PC or the OS. I'm not sure what to do next and can't find anything helpful online.

The projector is mounted on a high ceiling which makes access difficult, the cable from the projector to the PC is two extensions. If you plug a mouse at the end of the first run it works fine. as does the mouse is used locally on the PC.

Any advice would be much apreciated.

I dont fully understand the whole situation, likely its described properly and its just me not quite getting the whole thing.
However, the first thing coming to mind is an uninstall and re-install of the mouse drivers and remote control program. Its very possible that windows may have somehow corrupted a file somewhere, somehow.

Of course, first thing to do is check each and every connection and make sure all batteries are good, if needed.
But you have likely done all that.

Good advice + great people = tek-tips
