Hi ,

I work for a product based company and we have a legal management product which facilitates Legal management and manage expenditures for the same .

The current BI Model is dynamic ie model can be customized by users and they can refresh datamodel which is transactional in nature .We are using Cognos as BI Tool .

We are aiming at building a datawarehouse in order to overcome the current issues of performace and poor architechture .

Can anyone suggest me the best approach to model the new DWH ?
Has anyone done a similar data modeling work ?

I would suggest you look very intensely into the Datavault principle ( as a way to store data in your DWH. This works very well for transactional systems and there are lots of resources, white-papers etc to be found. There is even formal training which can be followed

Do a search for "Free Data Models" on the web. There are several sites with free models which you can review for ideas and possible suitability for your business. I'm sure there's something out there for "legal".
