I'm looking for some help on data migration. Right now my organization have a 8850 and will need to migrate the data to a DMX 1000. Is there software that can help me do this? A couple of the servers do have veritas volume manager installed on them. I would like to migrate from the host to the DMX.

Any suggestion would be helpful.

Thanks

with veritas you could setup mirroring in order to copy all volumes and then detach de old device...

do you have a clariion? you could use SAN Copy...

does your servers support RAID 1 by OS? you could try seting up mirrors.

Last one: cp /old/dev /new/dev

I'm not sure whether SRDF is supported between those models...

Cheers.

Time Finder is a possibility...but I would go with Veritas or Sun Volume manager from my experience....

You can use Volume Manager Mirror (Prefered), tar, cpio, dd, SANCopy, MirrorView, SnapClone.

comtec17: he can't use mirrorview nor snapclone since he has symmetrix, not clariion.
