Data Items don't show up in Work with Data Items screen

Hello,
I am a JDE OW newbie. I am writting a custom app and need some seasoned help. I defined some new data items using OMW and OL and have attached them to my project. When I try to use the data items in a DS or any other tool, I don't see them when I use the QBE line to look for them. Have I done something wrong or just not done something to make them visible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
