Hi all,

I'm very curious about data in the tape after image expire in NB database. If I set retention level to 1 week and after 1 week, the image will expire in NB database. Am I right here? In order to retrieve the data back I need to import the image file back in. If I dont recycle the tape, is the data still in the tape?

Than kyou in advance.

regards,
feroz

You are correct. The data still resides on the tape after the retention level has been met. You will need to import the tape back in.

One thing to add - As long as the tape has not had any other images written to it, you should be okay to import it back in. I have seen many cases where an image was written to the tape after the original images were expired and this prevented a successful import of older data.
