I have a file relating to itself in the DE. They are linked by a 7 digit number. File1 is "Claims" and Alias file2 is "Claims1". I have a page frame on the form. First page shows a single record from Claims. Second page has a 7 column grid with record source as Claim1. Individual text boxes on the grid have control sources identified as fields in Claims1. At run time grid shows first seven physical fields of File Claims1 instead of the fields identified in the control source properties. What is happening here?

LenaS, somewhere on the form you used 'Grid.RecordSource = "something"'. Any assignment to record source of grid cause it to rebuild its control sources to defaults. If grid have no RecordSource specified, it just uses current alias and the result is the same as you described (check if you specified it). Finally, cursor should be opened for grid before griid initializes, otherwise you again will have the same behavior. Try to open table by USE command in the LOAD event of the form.
