Hi,

An application we have uses Cognos, and in the Ad Hoc section it says that you can connect using 3 party reporting tools.

it gives a username, a password and an URL to a .dll file. Does that make sense?

I've tried making a new connection with this URL and credentials using WEb/IIS log files and a couple of others that have fields for URLs but I'm not getting anywhere.

What is the correct method to connect to this?

Thank you

wow I was very unclear, sorry. let me try again

I'm using CR 2008, Ive been given a url, username and password (that just happens to be from a Cognos set up but forget about that) that is supposed to let me connect to the data using 3d party reporting tools-in this case Crystal.

So I guess my question is how would I set up a datasouce in Crystal from a URL?

Hi,
You need to check on supported data sources from Crystal ( SAP) support - CR may not have the drivers needed to access data thru a URL.

Ask Cognos what 3rd party tools are supported.
