I have to upload a file with a couple of numeric fields. The first field has to be 8 characters (000220.1) and the second field (0000.04918). Getting the decimals correct is fine, but how do I keep the leading zeros in the table. If they can't be kept in the table this way, can I force them when exporting this data to a text file?

Thanks for any ideas (driving me nuts).

Thanks for the help.
Greg

In order to store the leading zeros you will need to use a text field. If you can't change the field type, then yes you can format it during an export to the text file. Look at the FORMAT command.
