Hi,
I'm using the following dual card, one port for internal(which works fine 1000mb) and the other on external to a router(which is not working fine).
Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Network Connection.

It autos to 10 half duplex and e-mail traffic comes through fine for a short while and then "stops". The only way I can get the data traffic to flow again is by "disabling and re-enabling the network card. I tried to set it to manual 10 half duplex and nothing comes through at all.

This setup worked fine on my old server with a 10/100 card, but since I changed over to the new server I've had this problem. I have been onto my provider who has tried everything, but no luck. Because it's a 1U server, I've no spare slots to try another card.
Anyone any ideas??

Please explain your setup a bit more. Doe the half/10 interface plug into a switch that you manage? If no, I'd plug it in to a switch you control and see if it negotiates anything other than half/10. You want to be certain both the switch and the nic are set to auto negotiated speed/duplex.
It's always good to make sure you are using a good driver. I've seen a driver update fix some speed/duplex issues on intel nic's.

You need to find out what the router's port is set for, and match that setting on the server.

On the old server, did you have to change speed/duplex ?

One port is going into an old 3com router. The other is going into a switch. The switch auto negotiates to 1000 and works fine. On the old setup it was set to auto negotiate on a 10/100 card and worked fine and I did not have to change the speed. I'm having difficulty finding settings to change the duplex setting on the 3com router. The server os is ms server 2003, the previous server was running 2000.
