Is there a way to filter data to a dimension.

I dont want to create a view from the source database.

My requirement is to get only "permenant tenants" in the tenant table (source) to tenant dimension.
Do u think, that I should do this by crystal analysis?
Or can I do through sql analysis server? if then how?

Thanks in advance

I believe you can restrict their addition during the build of the dimension, perhaps directly, perhaps by mapping them to "other".

In addition or instead, you could use security to prevent users from accessing those rows/columns with values other than "Permanent Tenants". The drawback is that I have seen remarks from MDX'er indicating that heavy use of Analysis Services security can be a performance drain, and I trust MDX'er's insight in this area since I have never used the AS security in a major way.

Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side because there is more manure there - original.
