I'm not sure which section of the Data Explorer you're talking about, but if you are creating new connections under the ODBC section of the Data Explorer then each new connection is actually a new connection as it would appear in the ODBC Data Source Administrator. If you don't need the connections anymore that would imply that you do not plan to run the reports ever again that you created using those connections (or you've changed the database location for those reports). If you want to remove those connections, go to the ODBC Data Source Administrator and delete it there. (For the versions of Windows from 2000 on, you'll find the ODBC Administrator under Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Data Sources)
