Hello all,

I have a client who is setting up Windows Server 2003 virtually on a non windows server and DEP is preventing him from launching our application - unless he sets up our application to retry multiple times - then DEP lets it run.

Our application is included in the list of selected programs to be ignored by DEP... is it possible that the DEP Exception list is not being published right away?

He mentioned that this also occurs on 3 of the ~30 other servers they have which are not virtual - I am told that all the machines are the same, but could it be a hardware issue?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

So he did some testing - and it turns out that the computer is too fast! Our program was beeing booted up before windows had a chance to load the DEP exception list and know that it was OK to open that program...
