Hello all:

I have installed MySQL 3.23.55-nt and MySQL-Front on a
Windows 2000 server

Using MySQL-Front, I created a database, added a TABLE and
some fields and added RECORDS into that table

What utility do I use to create a form which the user
could use in enter data

Please advise

Thank you

Insufficient data for a meaningful answer.

I, personally, would use a syntax-highlighting text editor. But then, I have no idea what your skill level, available scripting languages, network protocol preference, or budget are. Want the best answers? Ask the best questions: TANSTAAFL!

Hello sleipnir214;

I have programmed in Access and DataEase and used their
tools to pick objects from a table into a free floating
form design. Both write to their back-end engines

Is my assumption correct in saying that PHP pops up a form
and a trigger would process a request, like adding,
modifying or deleting a record and/or processing a query?

I will very much appreciate if you will please suggest
a book or software that will get me jump start in the MySQL
world

Thanks indeed

You're mixing metaphores here.

MySQL compares more, in general capability, to SQL Server than to Access.

PHP compares more, in general capability, to the VBScript most commonly used in ASP than to Access.

Hello again sleipnir214!

Thanks very much indeed for your reply

I want to write application for access on the web

I was reading PHP forum and there was a mention of Macromedia's Dreamweaver. Is that an option I should
look into?

Look forward to your expert advise

Thank you

Hello sleipnir214

You have expressly indicated programming in PHP!

Please recommend the bible you trust there so I
can begin rolling my sleeves

Your help is greatly appreciated

Thanks again

Sorry, I came to PHP by way of c, ColdFusion, VBScript, and perl (in that order). All I needed to get started with the language was the online reference (
