Hi,
I'm trying to create a data-driven subscription and am getting no where fast.... I'm using sql server 2005 and am an admin on the server. I have the content manager role with all of the properties/settings checked, have been able to set up the data-driven subscription but I don't get the email(s).
The Report Server File Share won't work for my needs.
Here are my steps:
I created a table to house the names and email addresses for my users and inserted data (currently housing test data to validate how well the subscriptions work)
1. I name the subscription, specify Report Server E-mail and specify a datasource for this subscription only.
2. I leave the connection type Microsoft SQL Server, add my connection string, add my user name and pw and check the box to use windows credentials.
3. I add my query and validate it.
4. Then I set the fields for To:, etc. as needed and then schedule the subscription for a specific time.
If I use Report Server E-mail it shows that it processed but with errors and I never receive my email. The status shows: Done: 5 processed of 5 total; 5 errors.
If I use Null Delivery Provider it also shows that it processed, does not error but I still don't get any email. The status shows: Done: 5 processed of 5 total; 0 errors.
I've looked at the logs but the error messages say that the email address of one or more recipients are not valid but I did check them prior to setting up the subscription and again after I got the errors but the two email addresses I'm using are correct. I updated the email addresses again copying in directly from the emails property page for the email addresses I'm using but still it doesn't work.
I made sure that my report server email settings were set up with the correct SMTP settings but I don't know what else to check or where the problem may be, I did look at the rsreportserver.config file but my settings match with the settings suggested.
Any suggestions on what else I should look for?
Thanks,
Jacque
I can create the regular type of subscriptions and they are successful and I (or my user) receive the report by email. Weird huh?
