Data does not show in a string field

Hello,
I have one string field in my report. The data is there but the data does not show up in the report. Does anyone know why and what to do to display the data ?? thank you.

Hi,
Not without more info:

Version Of Crystal
Datasource including version and connection method
Description of data table.

When you right-click the field in the report designer, can you 'browse the data'?

Are you formatting or supressing the field?

yes, here is the extra information: crystal 9.0. Yes, I see the data display when I do the right click and browse data. I am not doing any surpressing or formatting the field. it is a string field that contains all the contact names. Thank you.

Thanks for the info..One more question ( of course there is one more, there always is ).

Is more than one table involved and/or can that field have NULLs?

( actually, 2 questions, I know..)

Thank you for helping me out..
there are 2 tables are used in this report. This field could be null but the problem is there is not data show up at all for this field in this report.

Is that field blank for ALL the records returned and are other fields from that same table for the same record shown correctly?

Yes, all other fields are returned correctly for each record. No contact information displayed for all the records.

Odd...Try this experiment:
Create a new report using only the table with the problem field..see if it shows data then.

Even odder, since the browse data worked.

What database? Version? Connection Method?

It suppose to be ms sql from ms crm. I don't know what kind of connection that was. That is what I am trying to find out(This is my first week working with ms crm and crystal report). Yes, I am having a lot of fun.
