Does anyone know of any software (other than TOAD DATA MODELLER) that would create a data dictionary document which includes:

* Table definitions (name, fields, types and comments)
* Indexes
* Relationships

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,

Bear in mind that it would not take much to create a query to do what you want. [2thumbsup]

True...but in my (pocket) book, it's even nicer to get what I want without additional cost, forever. [2thumbsup]

Well, Plato, DDL Wizard and SQL Developer are free! [bigcheeks]

Cheers for all the responses, will have a look into these. Have used SQL Developer but only in training course so not familiar with all its functionality. Everyone likes free and my Oracle database knowledge outside general queries isn't that hot. Could ask our DBA's to write something.

Not exactly what you asked for, but you (and others) might want to take a look at SchemaSpy -
It generates a stack of interlinked HTML pages which describe your database, there's an example at
I particularly like the way it generates mini ER diagrams for each table - a handy way to explore an unfamiliar system.
