I am looking for any advice for data conversion as I have not run into this issue yet concerning Access. I am trying to convert data from an old DOS system...FM Light...to Access. I have taken the data from the old DOS system and imported it to Excel. I am worried about the integrity of the data so I am not sure if this is a correct approach. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you already have the data in an Excel spreadsheet, it should import fine into Access from there.

Some tips to help you import Excel files:

- Make sure that field names are in row 1
- Make sure field names are short and clean
- Make sure that each record is in it's own row
and does not flow to other rows
- Let Access assign a primary key

Good luck,
Larry
