I am writing a specifications document for a data collection device (i.e.) SNMP data collector. I am most interested in collecting objects, statistics and messages from network devices including network core switches as well as edge devices. This should include data from multiple protocols from the first three layers of the OSI model. Does anyone know of any site or documents or white papers that will help me?
