As I discussed in earlier post I have replaced my Commserve with new hardware of which one was a 12TB array for my magnetic library. I have an issue with Data aging. I have my retention policy set for 12 days on disk and it still hasn't aged data off from the 14th of November. I would have thought it would have purge at least one of my fulls with typical is about 2.8TB's which was run on the 14th. It has however purged some data. Any ideas on what could cause this? Up until this point I never had enough disk library space to keep anything more than six days on disk which led me to manually wipe the disk every Friday before I ran my weekly fulls. I'm hoping there is a easy solution but am just not seeing it.

Run a data aging report and it should tell you why the data is not aging.

Aux copies waiting to be written?

Data won't prune until the highest retention aux copy has completed if the aux copy is set to read from your maglib

All my Aux Copies have been written to tape. I set the retention of my primary storage policy copy to 7days 1 cycle which should allow me to keep 2 fulls online. I will have to see how well it works though as it needs to run the third full then age the other full and incrementals off. Its going to be a little tight on disk space but I think that will work. I should know this Saturday when Data aging runs since I start my weekly fulls Friday night and most are complete by Saturday morning.
