Hi all,

I am testing to upgrade ACCPAC ERP 500 5.3A to ACCPAC ERP 500 5.5A.

I have do all the upgrading step but i have an error when activate Inventory Control in Data Activation ACCPAC 5.5A

Here is the screenshot :

Please help me how to solve this error.

Thanks.

my collation is SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
my SQL version is SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition
my ODBC driver is SQL Server
is it ok?

That sounds normal. But since it's crashing on the very first table, maybe you should try case sensitive. I'm really not sure at this point, you're having a very unusual problem.

The error "invalid character value for cast specification" normally means there is unexpected data in a field, like a messed up date value or something like that.
But wait... are you loading 5.3 data using a DCT file from a 5.5 dump??? That's not gonna work.

The instructions are good, but create the new company in 5.3.
It will not work if you create the new company in 5.5.

finally inventory control 5.5a data activation is success.

my steps for migrating to 5.5a :
1. dump old company data (5.3a)[all AR, AP, AM transactions have been posted]
2. dump new empty company with the same modules activated in accpac 5.3a
3. replace .DCT file in old company with the .DCT file from new empty company
4. load old company to accpac 5.5a

thanks tuba2007 and ettienne.
