If you are building your reports directly against tables, then the database account you are using would only need Read access.
If you are building Stored Procedures, the database account will need EXECUTE permission on each Stored Procedure you need.

Thanks! It's funny, but even though I've been using Crystal for several years (started with version 5 reporting against a Btrieve DB - YUCK) I've never considered what access I needed. It was always just set up for me when I started a job.
