I'm trying to create a Data Access Page which I'll hopefully be able to make available as a data entry page via http.

I can view existing records ok.

If I use the wizard the add record button is greyed out. If I manually create a create record button or convert an existing form when i click the button it tells me I can't create a record because the recordset is read only/

Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing that can enable data entry this way?

Thanks.

To be updatable the recordset should contain all the PrimaryKeys fields.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thanks, that's solved it.

I've got the data access pages working on my worsktation ok.

When I upload them and my database to the web server however the data access pages looks in the hard drive of my workstation for the database. How do I change the connection string to look on the web server.

According to the help on my web server the connection string ahould be someing like this "C:\Sites\content\f\o\w\fowaar\db\mydb.mdb" but how do I tell it that it's the C drive of the server not the C drive of the client?

Also the browser prompts me to set the site to be a trusted site, is this necessary? I'd rather my users didn't have to do this.

Beware Data Access Pages are no longer supported.

BNPMike - which part? The Html? DHtml? XML? You don't need access to create a data access page. They are web pages using the tools of internet explorer. It would help if you could be more specific.
