Data Access Pages EXTREMELY slow to load

I have some data access pages on a shared network drive that access an Access database on that same drive. On some computers, the pages load lightning quick (less than a second). However, there are other computers that take many magnitudes longer. For instance, loading a page with just one combo box attached to a very simple query returning about 10 records takes about half a minute. This happens even when just one user is accessing them. There isn't a problem when opening other files on that drive, just DAPs. The DAPs are made in Access 2000.

I am desperately looking for possible reasons anyone can think of for the extreme slowness. These computers are not installed with Access, by the way.
