Data Access Page - users get: Operation must use an updateable query

Just posted a data access page on our Intranet. When the admin and owner open it up, the page can be written to and saved. When a regular user opens the page, they can write to it, but...As soon as they go to click on the save button (not File->Save, this button is in the Data Access Page), they get these errors:

Operation must use an updateable query - click ok
The Save Command failed - click ok

I've checked NTFS permissions on the folders, database and the Direct access page. Given Domain users Change and then Full Control...these settings did not help

Anyone run into this before?

Sorry for the long response Donna,
If I recall correctly...I created a shortcut to the data access page in the same folder. I then pointed the link on the Intranet to this shortcut. Everyone was able to use it after that.

I too had this problem. I'm running XP Pro with an ASP.Net site accessing an Access 2000 DB, all on my local machine.

Drove me nuts!

At the bottom of the page there is a clue.

What I did was go into 'folder options' and then 'View' in the control panel. At the bottom of the list, I de-selected "Use simple file sharing(Recommended)".

I was then able to right click the folder and grant specific access to specific users. That option prevents the 'Security' tab from being displayed in the context menu.

Once done. No more error messages.
