Hello,

I have a data access page that is used as a data entry form for auditors who don't have Access licenses. The page was working fine until yesterday when a user reported that she was unable to navigate to a "new record".

Everything appears to be connecting to the database. The dropdowns work and I am able to delete records. The problem is that I can't save, navNext, NavPrev, or addNewRecord.

I'm not sure where I should look for the problem as everything appears to be connecting properly to the database. The table that the form populates only contains 166 records so I know I'm not over the 10,000 record limit for a D.A.P.

Any help or push in the right direction as far as places to look or things to check would be greatly appreciated. I'm stumped here.

Thanks!

It almost sounds like you somehow made it uneditable. But the deletion doesn't fit. Is it based on an editable query or just a table? Did you do any rebinding? Do you have grouping? Did you try and rebuild it from scratch and see if it acts the same way?

The Data Access Page is based on a table. The user enters audit data into the page and it writes to the table when the record is saved. We then query the table to make reports.

Nothing was done to the DAP prior to the loss of functionality that I'm aware of. I only tried rebinding after the problem was reported.

I haven't tried rebuilding the page yet. I was hoping there would be something quick that I was overlooking.

Any ideas?

If it's just built on a table, is the primary key of the table on the DAP? If it isn't, then the DAP is uneditable. You can't save or navigate but you can delete. I've been trying to duplicate that but to no avail.
Since it is just based on a table, maybe it would be quicker to redo the DAP then to try and fix this one.
