Data Acces pages pass parameters

Hello,
I found what I believe is exactly what I am looking for when I run the code on this link:

I am running into the issue with the second sample code.
I can not figure out how to create a "separate global script block".
I put it into the page's script block and it errors saying "expected end of statement"
I am using MS access and then the ms script editor.
Main ? is how do you create a "separate global script block". I believe this is the problem..
