I have an HP Surestore Tape 6000. It is installed on my Linux server via a 2940 SCSI card.

how can I get it to work backing up my server directories?

Will TAR work? How? It is /dev/st0 and it is actually responding with arkeia, but arkeia crashes it. I am looking for a very simple and dependable backup solution. I like tar but am not sure how to use it with a scsi DAT2.

Can someone assist? RedHat 9.
