Hi

This may be a simple question but i have just installed epo 2.5 and want the server to automaticly download the latest dat update and then client pc to cheak the server and if there is a latest update then take that dat update of the server and install it.

I don't want client pc connecting to the intranet for dat updates i want to do this through the server

Is this possibe

cheers

You can. Follow these steps:

1. Install NS on the ePO server.
2. Install Hotfix 14 for NS 4.5 (this will download UPDATE.INI needed by VS 4.5x)
3. Create a task for NS to do AutoUpdate DAILY (say 9AM). Point to the NAI FTP site. In the advanced tab, save the update files to a shared folder on the server.
4. Create a task for VS to do AutoUpdate DAILY (@10AM). Point the update site to the shared folder.
5. Do an agent wake-up call.

This basically gives you the idea on how this will all go down:

NAI --> ePO shared folder <-- workstation PC.

the ePO server gets it from NAI and saves it to a shared folder. Then the workstations get it from that shared folder.

HTH.
