Dat Tape Drive on Psyche

Hi all,

please note that i'm only a newbie!

I have just installed a HP Dat Tape internal 40 Gb on my server with psyche loaded. The SCSI Tape drive has the id 3.

1. How can I check for devices that can be mounted i.e list them
2. I have installed Amanda package through the gui package manager but I can't see the icon for it. SO i have try to launch /usr/bin/amanda/amandad but i get an error message " could't find the program"
3. Is it possible to run a program chosen in the list of KDE progs in Gnome?

PLs correct me if I'm wrong, Amanda is not supposed to handle the dat Tape drive?
