DAT Drive backup very slow, good tips to improve fast

Hi,
Tape backup is getting very slow timing it takes 1.30 minutes instead of 40minutes. dat drive configaration is compaq 4/8gb
give any good solution for this

Hi

checks your system resources during backup using command sar, you may have a process that takes a lot of resources. Or, check the space disk of what you want to backup ( maybe it increase ).

Can you change the blocksize setting? You can get very good speed improvements by experimenting with different blocksizes Mike
