is there an easy way to make a dashed line? like - - - - - -

but a line so I can make it like 5px high if I want

2)5 px high x 8 px wide Transparent Background
3)Marquee > Select 5 Pixels x 5 Pixels
4)Edit > Fill > Black
5)Select All
6)Define Pattern
7)In whatever document, make a marquee a 5 pixels high, whatever wide
8)Edit > Fill > Pattern > Choose your new pattern
9) Voila
