Dashboard threshold setting?

Hi,

I just wonder what is the good number for thresdhold setting in Dashboard properties? Or how to define a health network and set it up as baseline to compare the current network.

In my alarm log i getting a lot of Octts/s: alarm.
and utilization over 85%

Hi Shihlin,
there is no basic rule to set these parameters, because every network is different. (switched, shared, nr. of clients, nr. of protocols, etc.). so every network has it's own baseline.
A utilisation of 85% may be ok when you are on a switched segment, but it could be a disaster if you are on a shared segment and you have more than just to hosts on this segment.
My Advice is, monitor your network closely and find out what is your normal traffic, you will find very soon what is normal in your network.
