I was wondering if anyone out there is using Dashboard Manager from Business Objects? I want to look into it but not sure what, if any, prior products I need from Business Objects. We are currently running Crystal Enterprise 9 but the higher-ups want a dashboard so they can see their metrics as real-time as possible. Not sure where else to post this question.

I often create Dashboard type reports in CE/CR.
They generally consist of multiple unlinked subreports, adn in some cases house on demand subreports.
In some instances we had scheduled exports to PDF and then a link from a web portal to the export location so that they could view hourly exports, or they could go run it for up to the date info.
The cost is pretty much the same in terms of database response time, so you might post specifically what the advantages/requirements are that you seek.

You would probably want to go to BO-XI (aka Crystal Enterprise 11) PREMIUM edition if you want all the intergrated Dashboard/KPI metrics/Performance Management tools?
To do it properly you will also need to have a solid grasp of what you are trying to measure (ie. Business Analysis, Best Practice Consulting), and a good underlying consolidated datasource (eg. BusinessView, BO Universe, Data Warehouse).
Based on my experiences, Managers love the "sizzle" of the dashboard presentation layer - but fail to comprehend the fundemental business decisions and behind-the-scenes work that are required to make a meaningful and actionable Dashboard/Performance Management interface.
