Has anyone heard of this? This is the only thing I can find on my computer that should not be there and I can't figure out how to get rid of it.

If you post a hijack this log, I can help you tomorrow. I will have to refresh my memory on the exact steps. It is something like

Using hijack this startup list to remove lop jobs from the task scheduler,
Deleting folders from documents and settings locations for all users and from program files,
and then fixing some R, o2, and o4 lines in the hijack this log.

If that's all you have, you will be very fortunate because this is much simpler to fix than some of the stuff that is going around nowadays.

It comes from installing messenger 3 with sponsors. You can take a first step of uninstalling messenger.
If you can work it out on your own, you can use hijackthis' startup list to look for 1-5 jobs similar to this in the task scheduler, A2864FEB9185C5B7.job and delete them, and
then post a hijackthis log.

We can help you from there tomorrow.

Hi again,
Just back for a minute.
I was hurrying a lot trying to find my old posts to get you some information and made a mistake above.

The problem does not come from messenger, it comes from an add in called messenger 3 plus. You do not need to uninstall messenger, you need to uninstall messenger 3 plus. You can reinstall it without sponsors once you have everything cleaned up.

Also, at a site called Bleeping Computer you can find an excellent tutorial on Hijack this, it should have a download link for hijack this in it too. I've lost all my notes so I don't have handy links for you but you can google it easily.

Ok great, just saw your other post, I'm glad you got it fixed.

It would still be good to check task scheduler to see if there are any reload jobs left hanging around.
