Has anyone else encountered this problem and solved it? Ive looked at all of Seagates white papers and all of their fixes are not working. Im running on IIS 5, and developing in Visual InterDev. Im also using CR 8 Developer. Ive got the rptserver.asp file in the same location as my asp file, ive double checked all the code to make sure my viewers are referencing the right file, tore apart all the crystal asp samples...still having no luck. If someone has had the same problem or can direct me to a more detailed paper through seagate or ..... help!! :)

Unfortunately, it could be a lot of things. It's a generic message that covers a) couldn't connect to the db system, b) error in running the report, etc.

The first thing I learned to do was to login directly to the IIS box and run the report locally (I installed all of Crystal on the IIS/Web server for this purpose). See if there are any problems there, going from the IIS box to the db system (assuming they are separate machines).

The next thing to look at is your .LogonServer command and make sure that you don't get an error code from running it. Brian J. Alves
