Dameware - Hijacking?

I found on of my computers with Dameware installed. Seems like a real neat "Remote" software. But - It was used to SPAM email & much more.

My question is - How can I track down the person that is attempting to use this software. As I have Zone Alarm running and I see pings to the machine on the RPC ports. The IP's are in Latin America & Germany. Seems like someone hiding behind a proxy server. So how can I find out who this person or at least what thier "real IP" is. Is there such software? Yes security measures have been made with a router and so on...

how do you mean "it was used"

At my site we have it only allowing a range of addresses that we use in IT for remote connect... so other desktops or outside connections will be blocked.

you should be looking at how it was installed. someone has had access to your pcs that shouldn't. if you close dowwn dameware they will probably install something else

Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?
