Is it the scheduler or autoloader? Need to set up daily backup with rotation. Using ver 6.1 w/ HP Surestore. Runs sometimes not all the time. Needs to be M-F in evening, with rotation. Errors like 'media in device group 'X' is not in the scratch set of pool 'X'. and failed to connect to TSA. Don't know what to do next.

1) Check your Media DataBase
2) Go into the roation/scheduling page of the backup job by selecting it and choosing to modify it. Make sure that the Media Pool you have created is selected. Next go into the Meida Pool Manageer and make sure that the media pool has tapes in the scratch set.
It sounds like the tape that you are trying to backup to either does not belong to the media pool or is in the media pools save set. If it does not belong add it by choosing to add media to the pool. If you see it listed in the save set it is there for a reason. When you configured your rotation you told ArcServe to hold on to media for X days, and to maintain atleast X amount of Media before overwriting older backup tapes. If neither one of these were met, Arcserve will not overright the tape. I hope this helps. Let me know. Musher
