guys,
everytime i boot up one of my pc's it begins printing jobs from the day before. i'll check the spool before shutting down and it will be clear. i've uninstalled/reinstalled. has this happened to anyone else???
If not, please specify the make, model of the printer experiencing this issue, and whether it is configured as a local printer or network printer, and how it is connected.
this is an HP 5100. it is networked. i currently have the pc networked directly to the printer's ip address. all of the pc's on the network are mapped to this printer the same way. plus, the problem pc is connected to other network printers. however, the hp 5100 is the only one that prints old jobs each day. I suspect you are printing from a DOS based application
Here is the fix assuming that the printer is shared:
At the DOS prompt, type NET USE
If a printer is lsited, type
NET USE LPT1: /DELETE
Then add:
NET USE LPT1: \\COMPUTERNAME\SHARENAME /PERSISTENT:YES
All DOS jobs will be captured and sent to the printer from now on. Use /PERSISTENT:YES for W2K and XP only. Each time the systems boots, it will remember the NET USE entry
