Daily Greeting

Hello All and thank you for making this such a valuable resource!

I have a need to create a daily annoucement for one of my DIDs. On our old Magix system, we set up a voicemail extension to be "annoucement only". Whenever a user called that DID, they would have the daily message played and the system would hang up. One of my users would simply log into that voicemail extension's mailbox and record the greeting each day.

I can not figure out an easy way to do this? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Is it best to use an annoucement tied to an extension with voicemail turned off? If so, how do you easily change the message?

Is it best to use a custom callflow in VoiceMail Pro?

There are a few ways to do this. You could take a phantom user and send it to VM and just use the mailbox. You could direct the DID straight into a module on the VM with a generic action that plays the wav file and then disconnects. Then you can set a short code that records that wav file using and edit play list action. It is pretty simple that way. They just dial the short code and record the file and save it.
